Dear Devil Rays Families,

As we gear up for another exciting summer swim season, we want to take a moment to thank you for being part of our vibrant Dulles Farms Devil Rays community. Our team thrives because of the incredible support, energy, and time that our families contribute each year—and we truly couldn’t do it without you!

As a reminder, all families are required to fulfill a set number of volunteer obligations, which are tracked using a point system. The specific number of required points will be finalized by the Mandatory Parent Meeting on May 12, but it will be similar to last year's requirements.

To help ensure accountability, each registration included a $500 conditional volunteer fee, which is only charged after the season if your family does not meet its volunteer obligation. If, for example, 15 points are required and your family completes only 12, you will be charged $150 for the three missing points ($50 per point). Families who meet their full obligation will not be charged, and their credit card information will be securely discarded.

New this season, we are offering a "volunteer opt-out" option. Families who prefer not to volunteer may choose to pay a one-time $400 opt-out fee by May 1, 2025, at 11:59 PM. This payment removes your family’s volunteer requirement and helps cover the cost of running events without full volunteer participation.

That said, we strongly encourage families to consider volunteering instead of opting out. The success of our meets, practices, and team events depends on the helping hands of our swim community. Volunteering is also a great way to meet other families, cheer on the swimmers, and be part of the summer fun!
